Uniqueness of UAC
Programming : At this time there is no other organization in the Hampton
Roads area that provides the same services as the Urban Arts Center of
Center for Community Development INC. The UAC sits in a unique position
as a division of a community development corporation. This position commits
our focus to working for a better community, to willfully seek out, accept,
and develop youth into potential college graduates as well as productive
members of the community and society.
Golden memories and
safe havens for youth and families is what the UAC of CCDI is all about,
brighter todays and tomorrows.
“Before attending UAC Tabitha was headed straight for self-destruction.
She thought that dealing, hanging out on the street all day and night,
dropping out of school was the way to go…By attending UAC has taught her,
responsibility respect and pride. She wants to finish school and go in
to college.”
Tabitha's
mother
At that time Tabitha was 15 years old. Today Tabitha is 19 working at
a small business and training to be a Merchant Seaman.

“I wish I could make a tape and show them at school. If they could
see Brandon teaching this class they would not believe it. They only knew
him to be a trouble maker.”
